ISLAMABAD: (News Desk) – The Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) 2026 will be conducted across Pakistan on Sunday, September 20, at 10am, with more than 138,000 candidates scheduled to appear.
According to details, a total of 138,160 candidates will sit the entrance examination at 34 examination centres established by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC), including a centre in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The three-hour examination will consist of 180 multiple-choice questions covering Biology, Chemistry, Physics and English. Educational experts from across the country were involved in preparing the question paper.
To minimise the risk of cancellation in case of any issue, two separate question papers have been prepared for each province.
Candidates have been directed to reach their examination centres by 7am. The passing requirement is 55 percent for admission to medical colleges and 50 percent for admission to dental colleges.
There will be no negative marking in MDCAT 2026. The answer sheet will also be uploaded after the examination.

Examination centres across provinces
In Punjab, the MDCAT will be conducted at the University of Health Sciences (UHS), Lahore.
Candidates appearing in Sindh will take the test at IBA Sukkur, while the examination in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be held at Khyber Medical University (KMU).
For candidates appearing in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the examination will be conducted through Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University, Islamabad.
A separate portal has also been established for students from Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Due to internet connectivity issues, candidates there will be provided with hard copies of the question paper.
Federal Minister for Health Syed Mustafa Kamal said the Ministry of Health would only supervise the examination, while responsibility for conducting the MDCAT rests with the provincial governments.
