KP CM Sohail Afridi warns protest drone attacks over provincial security concerns
KP – (Web Desk) – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has issued a strong warning under the statement “KP CM Sohail Afridi warns protest drone attacks”, saying he may launch protests against ongoing drone strikes in the province. He said these attacks are causing serious collateral damage and increasing public anger.
Afridi made these remarks during a provincial cabinet meeting, where he said drone strikes have become a major concern for peace in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He added that such incidents are creating feelings of revenge among local people and also contributing to rising security challenges.
The Chief Minister also announced plans to call a tribal jirga on Saturday. Tribal elders and political leaders will be consulted to decide the future course of action regarding drone attacks.
He further said that the province is facing unfair treatment in gas supply and electricity loadshedding. According to him, KP produces more gas than it consumes, but still suffers from shortages.
Afridi also warned that if the gas supply issue is not resolved within 48 hours, the provincial government will begin a joint protest with all political parties.
The provincial cabinet approved several important measures, including climate action reforms, minority support programs, digital civil registration systems, and funding for healthcare and education projects across KP.
