KP Announces Public Holiday for 1st Muharram

KP Government to Observe Public Holiday on Islamic New Year

According to an official notification, all government offices and public sector institutions throughout the province will remain closed on 1st Muharram. The holiday is being observed to commemorate the start of the new Hijri year.

Provincial authorities stated that the implementation of the public holiday is subject to the official declaration of the Muharram moon sighting by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.

Sindh Revises Eidul Azha Holidays To Three Days

The committee is currently meeting to review moon-sighting reports from across the country. Its decision will determine the exact date of 1st Muharram and officially announce the commencement of the Islamic year 1448 AH in Pakistan.

Relevant departments have been instructed to make the necessary administrative and security arrangements in line with the committee’s final announcement.
