ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – The mehndi ceremony of Junaid Safdar, grandson of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and son of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, took place last night at Jati Umra and quickly became a topic of public interest as images and videos from the event circulated on social media.
Junaid Safdar is soon to be married to Shanzeh Ali Rohale, with the wedding celebrations arranged in a graceful and traditional manner, while maintaining a controlled and private guest list.
Held in an intimate yet vibrant atmosphere, the mehndi ceremony showcased cultural elegance and close family bonding, reflecting the Sharif family’s longstanding customs and values.

Only close family members and friends from both sides, the Sharif family and the Sheikh Rohale Asghar family, were invited to the mehndi, ensuring an intimate gathering despite the event’s high-profile nature.
Notable political and social figures were also seen attending the ceremony, adding to the significance of the occasion. Adding colour and energy to the night, renowned dancer Wahab Shah was specially invited to perform.

According to sources, approximately 350 guests attended the mehndi ceremony. An elaborate dinner was arranged for attendees, featuring a wide range of traditional desi dishes, reflecting the family’s emphasis on hospitality and cultural richness.

The wedding celebrations are set to continue with the baraat ceremony scheduled for today at 1:00 pm. Junaid Safdar will lead the wedding procession to Lake City, Lahore. Around 400 guests, including close family members and associates, have been invited to the baraat.
Following the nikah and baraat, the walima reception will be held on January 18 at Jati Umra. The walima is expected to be the largest gathering of the wedding festivities, with nearly 800 guests on the invitation list.
Sources further reveal that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, along with several federal and provincial ministers, is expected to attend the walima reception. Given the presence of top political leadership, security arrangements have been tightened to ensure smooth proceedings.
