Kartarpur:(Web Desk) – Two-day religious celebrations marking the 420th Jor Mela associated with Sikh leader Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji have begun in Kartarpur, Shakargarh.
According to a spokesperson of the Evacuee Trust Property Board, a total of 518 Sikh pilgrims from India are scheduled to arrive in Kartarpur today via the Wagah border.
During their one-day stay, the visiting pilgrims will take part in religious rituals and ceremonies as part of the annual observances.
Authorities have arranged special facilities for accommodation, food, and medical care to facilitate the visiting yatrees during their pilgrimage.

Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji (April 15, 1563 – May 30, 1606), the fifth of the ten Sikh Gurus, is remembered for compiling the first official version of the Sikh scripture, the Adi Granth, which later evolved into the Guru Granth Sahib.
He is also regarded as the first Sikh Guru to be martyred and is credited with founding several settlements, including Kartarpur, Hargobindpur, and Tarn Taran.
