KP Emergency Should Have Been Imposed Earlier, Says Nawaz Sharif
People of KP Freed From PTI Government, Claims Nawaz Sharif
LONDON: (Staff Reporter) – Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President and former prime minister Nawaz Sharif has said an emergency should have been imposed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa much earlier, arguing that the province’s law and order situation had already deteriorated significantly.
Speaking to journalists in London, Nawaz said the situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was spiralling out of control and that the decision to impose an emergency should have been taken sooner.
He also accused Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) of harming the province during its 13 years in power.
“In which country does a chief minister use state resources to launch an attack on the federal capital? What kind of practice is it to use provincial resources against Islamabad and other provinces?” Nawaz questioned.
The PML-N president further claimed that the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had finally been freed from PTI’s government.
Reaffirming his party’s commitment to national development, Nawaz said the PML-N was working for Pakistan’s progress and prosperity. He added that the federal and provincial governments were taking steps to improve the lives of ordinary citizens.
