Islamabad Food Authority Cracks Down on Adulteration Mafia, Two Key Suspects Arrested

The suspects were secretly producing imitation milk in a residential neighborhood.

Islamabad: The Islamabad Food Authority continued its successful operations against the adulteration mafia, arresting two main suspects involved in producing fake milk after extensive surveillance.

According to details, authorities seized and destroyed 15,000 liters of prepared fake milk, 225 kilograms of powder, and 640 kilograms of oil, while a case has been registered against the accused.

Under the supervision of Deputy Director Dr. Tahira Siddiq, teams conducted operations in G-10 and Jhangi Syedan. Speaking to the media, Dr. Siddiq stated that the suspects were producing 35,000 liters of fake milk daily and supplying it across the area.

Food safety and vigilance teams traced the vehicles, suppliers, and production unit after prolonged surveillance. The suspects were secretly producing imitation milk in a residential neighborhood.

Dr. Siddiq revealed that a thick chemical-based mixture was loaded into tankers, chilled with ice, and then supplied as milk. On-site tests failed, confirming that the product did not meet the required standards. Powder, water, and vegetable ghee were being mixed to create the fake milk.

She added that cases are being registered against those running this illegal business of selling a white chemical mixture as milk. All available resources will be utilized to eliminate the adulteration mafia in the federal capital.

Dr. Tahira Siddiq also warned milk suppliers to strictly follow the prescribed regulations, emphasizing that no leniency will be shown in case of violations.
