ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – A high-level committee led by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar reviewed key tax policy proposals for Pakistan’s upcoming federal budget during a meeting held on Wednesday, according to an official statement issued by the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office.
The committee carefully examined recommendations prepared by the Tax Policy Office and discussed multiple measures aimed at strengthening the national tax system, improving efficiency, and increasing overall revenue collection.
Participants also explored strategies to bring segments of the informal economy into the documented tax network as part of wider government efforts to broaden the country’s tax base and improve fiscal sustainability.
