Iran speaker Qalibaf doubts US negotiation trust remarks

TEHRAN: (Web Desk) – Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf has said that while Iran enters negotiations with goodwill and constructive intentions, there remains deep mistrust toward the United States due to past experiences.

Speaking to journalists upon his arrival in Islamabad, he stated that Iran has consistently faced broken commitments during previous negotiation processes with the United States of America.

He claimed that Iran had been subjected to attacks during ongoing diplomatic engagements in the past, which he described as evidence of repeated violations and breaches of trust.

Qalibaf emphasized that Iran is willing to reach a genuine agreement if the United States demonstrates sincerity and recognizes the rights of the Iranian nation.

However, he warned that if negotiations are used as a tool for deception or political display, Iran remains fully prepared to defend its national interests and sovereignty.

He reiterated that Iran has both the capability and determination to respond to any form of aggression while safeguarding its strategic and national rights.
