U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance Arrives in Islamabad for Iran Ceasefire Talks

The plane entered Pakistan’s airspace near Chitral at around 10:00 a.m

Islamabad (Web Desk) –  J.D. Vance has arrived in Islamabad on an official visit aimed at advancing comprehensive ceasefire negotiations with Iran.

The U.S. vice president was accompanied by senior officials, including Steve Witkoff, an adviser to President Donald Trump, and Jared Kushner.

Upon arrival at Nur Khan Airbase, Vance was received by Pakistan’s top leadership, including Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, and Chief of Army Staff Asim Munir.

According to officials, the U.S. vice president’s aircraft took a longer route to reach Pakistan, avoiding Middle Eastern airspace. The flight departed from Maryland and made a brief stopover in Paris before continuing its journey.

The aircraft reportedly did not use Afghan airspace and instead traveled via Georgia, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, and Tajikistan.

The plane entered Pakistan’s airspace near Chitral at around 10:00 a.m., where it was escorted by the Pakistan Air Force before landing at approximately 10:33 a.m.

The visit comes amid intensified diplomatic efforts to secure a ceasefire and promote dialogue, with Islamabad emerging as a key venue for high-level international negotiations.
