Mardan hospital escape raises questions over police negligence and security lapses
Mardan – (Web Desk) – An injured suspect, wanted in a murder and attempted murder case, escaped from a hospital in Mardan. The incident has raised serious concerns about police care, officials said on Thursday.
The suspect was at Mardan Medical Complex for treatment when he managed to flee while in police custody.
After the escape, a First Information Report (FIR) was filed against the SHO of Saro Shah Police Station, Tajbar Shah, and the police team guarding the suspect.
The FIR, filed on the complaint of Sheikh Maltoon Police Station SHO Shafiq Ahmed, says the escape happened because of security lapses. CCTV footage reportedly shows Constable Ahmed Ali helping the suspect leave the hospital.
