Imran Khan Seeks Court Intervention to Remain in Civilian Custody. Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and former Prime Minister, has filed a petition with the Islamabad High Court seeking to avoid being transferred to military custody in connection with the incidents of May 9.

The petition, submitted through his lawyer Uzair Bhundari, names several key officials and agencies as respondents, including the Secretary of Law, Secretary of Interior, Federal Government, Inspector General of Islamabad Police, Inspector General of Punjab Police, Director General of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), and the Inspector General of Prisons.

In his petition, Khan requests that the court prevent his transfer to military custody and ensure that he remains under the jurisdiction of civilian courts and in civilian custody.

Khan is currently held in Adiala Jail, facing various charges, including those related to corruption and the May 9 riots.

This isn’t the first instance of Khan voicing concerns about potentially being transferred to military custody and tried in a military court.
