Pakistani pop singer Hassan Jahangir hints at Bollywood friendships, avoids Rekha claim

ISLAMABAD: (Showbiz Desk) – Pakistani pop singer Hassan Jahangir has responded to long-running rumours that Bollywood veteran Rekha once sent him a love letter during the height of his popularity.

During an appearance on a podcast hosted by Ahmed Ali Butt, Hassan was asked whether the widely discussed claim was true. The singer did not directly confirm or reject the story, saying with a smile that certain matters should remain private between the people concerned.

Hassan also spoke about his long-standing friendships and mutual respect with several Bollywood figures. He named Madhuri Dixit, Mandakini, Sonu Walia, Amitabh Bachchan, Mithun Chakraborty, Govinda, Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan among personalities with whom he has maintained cordial ties over the years.

When asked again about the identity of the person behind the alleged letter, Hassan replied humorously that “everyone writes them.” He added that he had written love letters himself and suggested that the host may have done the same.

Best known for his iconic track Hawa Hawa, Hassan Jahangir became a major pop sensation in Pakistan during the 1980s. His music also found an audience in India, where he developed connections with prominent personalities from the film industry.
