Hareem Farooq Backs Rajab Butt’s Film Industry Debut
Rajab Butt’s Film Debut Sparks Debate as Hareem Farooq Responds
LAHORE: (Showbiz Desk) – Pakistani actress and producer Hareem Farooq has encouraged aspiring filmmakers to pursue their ambitions, saying that although making a film is challenging, it is far from impossible.
During a recent interview, Hareem was asked about the online trolling faced by YouTuber Rajab Butt over his decision to enter the film industry. Dismissing the criticism, she said people should support those willing to make films rather than discourage them from exploring new opportunities.
Hareem stressed that anyone interested in filmmaking should be encouraged to take the initiative, provided they recognise their responsibility towards audiences and focus on delivering quality content.
She said filmmakers should aim to create movies that attract viewers and help Pakistani cinema gain recognition on the international stage.
Her comments come as Rajab Butt prepares to make his big-screen debut in an upcoming film directed by Syed Faisal Bukhari. The project features actress Amar Khan in the lead role alongside veteran performers.
Rajab’s transition from YouTube to cinema has generated mixed reactions on social media. He has faced criticism over his appeal to followers to save money to watch his upcoming film.
Hareem, who has experience as both an actor and a producer, also understands the challenges involved in bringing a film to the big screen.
She made her production debut with Janaan in 2016 and later produced projects including Parchi. Over the years, she has spoken about the difficulties facing Pakistan’s film industry, particularly limited resources and production challenges.
Despite these hurdles, Hareem has expressed her ambition to contribute to the growth of local cinema and help Pakistani films reach wider international audiences.
Her latest remarks underline the importance of encouraging new talent and creating an environment where aspiring filmmakers can pursue their creative ambitions while remaining focused on quality and audience expectations.
