Hafeez Criticizes PCB for Accepting Hybrid Model for Champions Trophy
Hafeez Urges PCB to Focus on Domestic Cricket and Saim Ayub’s Future
LAHORE: Former Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez has strongly criticized the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for agreeing to the hybrid model for the upcoming Champions Trophy, set to take place next February. In an exclusive interview with Samaa TV, Hafeez expressed concerns about the substandard facilities for first-class players, including poor water and washroom amenities, as well as the lack of proper dressing room access during matches.
He emphasized that while there was significant focus on ensuring the success of the Champions Trophy, the development of first-class cricket was being neglected. Hafeez also criticized the scheduling of the strike-force camp, which he believes should have taken place during the off-season instead of immediately after first-class matches.
