Gas Crisis Worsens In Lahore Residents Face Hardship
Severe Gas Shortage In Lahore Forces Residents To Use Costly LPG
LAHORE: (Web Desk) – Residents of Lahore are facing growing hardship as a worsening gas crisis continues to disrupt daily life, with low pressure and supply shortages persisting even during officially scheduled hours. Many households report that natural gas remains unavailable despite following government timings, forcing them to seek costly alternatives.
As a result, a large number of citizens have turned to liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders to meet their cooking needs. However, the surge in demand has driven LPG prices sharply higher, with rates reportedly ranging between Rs430 and Rs460 per unit. This increase has added significant financial strain, especially for families already grappling with rising utility expenses.

Residents say they are still paying regular gas bills despite not receiving consistent supply, making the situation even more frustrating. The crisis has hit lower and middle-income households the hardest, as they struggle to balance essential expenses.
Citizens have called on authorities to restore a stable gas supply and take urgent action to regulate LPG prices. They warn that if the issue remains unresolved, it could further intensify the difficulties faced by the general public.
