Tirmizi Reaffirms Pakistan’s Stance on Global Issues
ISLAMABAD — Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, reaffirmed the Government of Pakistan’s commitment to driving economic progress and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) during a reception hosted in the UAE to commemorate Pakistan’s National Day.
Addressing a distinguished gathering that included UAE dignitaries, diplomatic officials, and members of the Pakistani community, Ambassador Tirmizi emphasized Pakistan’s ongoing efforts toward socio-economic development. He underscored key national strengths such as a dynamic youth population, increasing women’s participation in public life, a thriving agricultural base, rich cultural heritage, untapped tourism potential, and a rapidly expanding IT sector.
The event was graced by the presence of Sheikh Nahayan bin Mabarak Al Nahyan, UAE’s Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, as the chief guest, along with Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Ahmed bin Ali Al Sayegh. The gathering also included members of the diplomatic corps, senior UAE officials, and Emirati nationals.
In a symbolic cultural exchange, Pakistani artists performed the national anthems of both Pakistan and the UAE using traditional instruments, reflecting the deep-rooted friendship between the two nations.
Ambassador Tirmizi reiterated Pakistan’s principled stance on global issues, including the resolution of the Palestine and Jammu and Kashmir disputes in accordance with United Nations Security Council resolutions. He also lauded the remarkable economic transformation of the UAE over the past five decades, attributing it to the visionary leadership of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan — a legacy proudly carried forward by the current President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
