Tehran Seeks Qatar’s Help To Avert Another War

Gulf Nations Fear US Could Resume Strikes Against Iran After Elections

TEHRAN: (News Desk) – Diplomatic efforts are underway to prevent a possible renewed conflict between Iran and the United States, as regional countries step up engagement to ease tensions.

According to Reuters, an Iranian negotiating delegation held discussions with Qatari mediators in Doha to explore ways to end the conflict and reduce regional tensions.

Diplomatic sources said the talks between Iranian and Qatari representatives continued for more than 12 hours, with the diplomatic contacts reportedly being conducted in coordination with Washington.

Meanwhile, Gulf countries are concerned that military action against Iran could resume after the elections, potentially triggering another escalation across the region.

Important update: Reuters subsequently reported on November 1 that Iranian negotiators were in Doha for a third consecutive day of discussions with Qatari mediators. The more-than-12-hour meeting mentioned in the initial report took place between Iranian and Qatari envoys in Tehran on Friday, before the Saturday Doha talks.
