Court Declares Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi’s Toshakhana-2 Petitions Infructuous

The Islamabad High Court has dismissed the petitions filed by the PTI founder and Bushra Bibi against their arrest in the Toshakhana 2 case, declaring them ineffective.

During the proceedings, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) prosecutor informed the court that the Toshakhana reference had been formally submitted, allowing the accused to seek post-arrest bail.

Salman Safdar, the petitioners’ advocate, argued that the court had previously expressed concerns about the ambiguity of the call-up notices issued in the case.

He also pointed out that this marks the second legal action related to the Toshakhana gifts and questioned the validity of filing the reference while fundamental rights issues remain unresolved before the court.

Justice Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb of the IHC questioned whether the prosecution had addressed the court’s earlier inquiries, including those related to the call-up notices.

The investigating officer (IO) confirmed that a response had been submitted, but advocate Salman Safdar noted that he had not yet received the reference number as of this morning.

As the hearing progressed, Justice Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb continued to document the prosecutor’s statements, underlining the court’s attention to the legal complexities of the case.
