Cloudburst in Swabi leaves 15 feared dead, homes destroyed
Multiple deaths feared, with landslides reported at several points.
Swabi – (Special – Correspondent/ Web Desk) – At least 15 people are feared dead after a powerful cloudburst struck Dalori Gadoon, Swabi, on Monday. The sudden downpour submerged 12 houses, triggered landslides in the mountainous region, and left families trapped inside collapsed homes, according to local officials.
Swabi Deputy Commissioner (DC) Nasrullah confirmed that the destructive water flow swept through the village, damaging property and leaving residents stranded. Early reports suggest several casualties as homes crumbled under the pressure of fast-moving torrents.
Landslides, blocked roads, and stranded vehicles complicate urgent rescue operations
Being a mountainous region, Dalori Gadoon also faced severe landslides at multiple points, further worsening the crisis. Roads leading to the affected villages were blocked by debris, delaying rescue and relief operations.
In nearby Bada Gadoon, heavy mudslides buried several vehicles under rocks, leaving dozens trapped. Rescue teams reported that the speed and force of the water made operations extremely difficult.

Emergency measures have also been taken at local hospitals, where medicines, tents, and relief supplies are ready for incoming victims.
Government monitoring crisis as officials warn of rising death toll
DC Nasrullah stated that the chief minister and chief secretary are personally monitoring the situation. He appealed to citizens to step forward and assist families who have lost everything.
Officials warned that the death toll may rise as rescue workers continue retrieving people trapped under collapsed houses and landslide debris. Residents of nearby villages have been urged to remain cautious, as further flash floods and landslides remain highly possible.
