Washington Offers $10M Reward for Mojtaba Khamenei Tips
US offers a 10 million dollar reward for information on Iranian leaders linked to the Revolutionary Guard.
United States – IRAN – (Web Desk) – The United States has announced a reward of up to $10 million for information about several senior Iranian military and intelligence officials. The offer also includes Iran’s new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei. The reward targets ten officials linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, according to the US State Department website.
The IRGC was formed after the Iranian Revolution of 1979. The force is known for its strong loyalty to Iran’s supreme leader and its role in protecting the country’s religious leadership.
Mojtaba Khamenei recently took over the role of supreme leader after his father, Ali Khamenei, was reportedly killed in joint strikes carried out by the United States and Israel on February 28. Several other senior Iranian officials were also killed in those attacks. Reports say Mojtaba Khamenei may have been injured during the strikes. He has not appeared in public since then, but he released his first statement on Thursday.
The United States is also asking for information about other senior officials. These include security chief Ali Larijani, Intelligence Minister Esmail Khatib, and Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni. Two officials working in the office of the supreme leader are also part of the list.
Videos verified by Reuters showed Ali Larijani on Friday attending a rally in Tehran. He was seen alongside President Masoud Pezeshkian and Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi. This appearance came after US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth claimed that Iran’s leadership was hiding underground.
The reward website also mentions four more officials, including the commander of the IRGC and the secretary of Iran’s defense council. However, their names and photos have not been shared.
“These individuals command and direct various elements of the IRGC, which plans, organises, and executes terrorism around the world,” the State Department said.
The Revolutionary Guards could not be immediately reached for comment on Friday, the weekly day of rest in Iran. Iran’s mission to the United Nations in New York didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
Iran Threatens Oil Infrastructure After US Kharg Strike
The US has designated the IRGC as a foreign terrorist organisation, accusing it of being responsible for attacks that have killed US citizens. Washington has also accused Iran of orchestrating assassination plots against President Donald Trump and other US officials in retaliation for the killing of Iranian military commander Qassem Soleimani in 2020.
Iran denies being a sponsor of terrorism. Iranian officials routinely dismiss US terrorism allegations as baseless political attacks, arguing Washington raises such claims to justify pressure campaigns or sanctions.
