CJP India X Account Blocked: Gen Z Shakes Politics
CJP India X Account Blocked Amid Growing Youth Movement
Indian – (Web Desk) – The CJP India X account blocked news has shocked millions of young Indians who were following the fast-growing Cockroach Janta Party online. The movement, started just days earlier, had already become one of the biggest viral campaigns in the country.
The party was founded by Abhijeet Dipke after Chief Justice Surya Kant made remarks comparing unemployed youth to “cockroaches” during a court hearing. Dipke launched the movement as a satirical platform to give young people a voice.
Within days, the CJP Instagram account crossed 20 million followers. That is more than double the number held by the ruling Bharatiya Janta Party, which has been active for over four decades.
As the movement grew, its official account on X was blocked. The government has not publicly explained the reason. X said it received orders under Section 69A of India’s Information Technology Act.
The CJP has also called for cancelling media licences of big news groups linked to powerful business families. Its founder says that mainstream Indian media repeatedly labels the movement in negative terms, making dialogue pointless.
Reporters and observers say that media houses have increasingly sided with the government in recent years. Critics who question those in power are often called anti-national by sections of the press.
Many young people see the CJP as a rare outlet for their frustration over unemployment, political dysfunction, and a media that does not represent them.
The rise of the Cockroach Janta Party reflects a wider wave of Gen Z-led protests seen recently in countries like Nepal and Bangladesh, where youth pressure forced major political change.
