Chaudhry Muhammad Ashraf, Former MNA and PML-N Leader, Dies at 90

Chaudhry Muhammad Ashraf – (Staff Reporter/Web Desk) – Chaudhry Muhammad Ashraf, a well-known face in Punjab’s political circles, has died at the age of 90. His passing has left many old friends and party workers in deep grief.

Family sources say his funeral prayer will take place on Saturday morning at 10 am. The location is Masjid Shuhada in Farid Town, Sahiwal. Relatives and supporters are expected to gather in large numbers.

For many years, he stood close to former prime minister Nawaz Sharif. People often described him as a loyal and trusted party member. His long relationship with the PML-N leadership earned him respect across the region.

He won a seat in the National Assembly four times, always running on a PML-N ticket. During his time in parliament, he also worked as a parliamentary secretary for education. This role let him play a part in shaping policies for schools and students.

Beyond politics, he held a place on the Pakistan Bar Council. He also led the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Law and Justice. Both roles showed his deep interest in law and public affairs.
