BYC Protest Turns Violent in Quetta: Three Dead, Legal Action Initiated

Legal Action Initiated Against BYC Leaders for Inciting Violence

QUETTA: A protest organized by the Baluch Youth Council (BYC) on March 21, 2025, demanding the recovery of bodies of individuals killed during the Jaffer Express operation turned violent, resulting in the deaths of three individuals. The protest escalated when BYC protesters and their armed supporters began stone-pelting, indiscriminate firing, and attacking law enforcement officers.

According to authorities, the deceased were killed by armed elements accompanying the BYC leadership. Civil authorities and police highlighted that the bodies required examination to determine the exact circumstances of their deaths. Despite this, BYC leadership refused to hand over the bodies, even though it was known that they were killed by their own associates, including one Afghan national.

The administration has reiterated its commitment to maintaining law and order and ensuring that those involved in illegal activities are held accountable.
