CTD eliminates BLA senior commander in Karachi, major blow to terrorist network
Balochistan Liberation Army – (Web Desk) – The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) scored a major success in Karachi. The terrorist killed on February 17 in Shah Latif Town, Malir, was a senior commander of the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA).
CTD officials said the man, Sohail Baloch, also known as Gurk, led BLA’s Al-Fatah squad. He planned several terrorist attacks and coordinated with other militants. He also supplied weapons to them.
Officials added that Sohail was behind the targeted killing of Deputy Commissioner Panjgur, Zakir Baloch, in Khuzdar. He was responsible for the deaths of more than 50 security personnel and civilians in various attacks.
Sohail also sent five suicide bombers for an attack on the Jaafar Express, the officials said. His death is seen as a big blow to the BLA’s operations.
They elaborated that Sohail would also set up pickets on roads and would loot people.
Previously, he had remained associated with Baloch Liberation Front.
In 2022, he joined the BLA and rose to become a senior commander of the outfit.
Officials termed his killing a big setback for the BLA.
Giving details of the operation in which Sohail was killed, the officials said that the CTD personnel surrounded a hideout of terrorists on the basis of information provided by his accomplices.
