Bloomberg: Pakistan’s Electricity Bills Now Exceed House Rents
Inflation in Pakistan Eases Slightly, But Remains Asia's Highest: Report

Pakistan-The report reveals that although inflation in Pakistan has seen a slight decline, it is still the highest in Asia, placing severe pressure on the country’s struggling population.
It points out that the government was forced to raise energy prices to meet the requirements for a new loan program from the International Monetary Fund (IMF). This has led to a sharp increase in electricity bills, which have risen far more than house rents, adding further financial pressure on citizens already facing inflation.
Bloomberg also notes that widespread protests have erupted in response to the steep tariff hikes and other economic reforms. These measures, implemented to satisfy IMF conditions, have sparked frustration among the public.

The report also highlights that half of Pakistan’s population lives on less than $4 a day, marking it as one of the poorest nations in the region.
