Balochistan Introduces Supplementary Exams for Class 8 Students
Balochistan Launches Class 8 Supplementary Examination System From 2026 Academic Year
Quetta: (Staff Reporter) – The Balochistan Education Department has introduced a supplementary examination system for Class 8 students, which will take effect from the 2026 academic year.
According to official sources, students who fail one or more subjects in the annual Middle Standardised Examination will now have an opportunity to improve their results through a Supplementary Middle Standardised Examination.
The supplementary exams will be conducted annually by the Balochistan Assessment and Examination Commission (BAEC) during the first week of March.
Only students who are unsuccessful in the annual Class 8 examination will be eligible to appear in the supplementary test.
Under the new policy, such students will receive conditional provisional admission to Class 9. Their admission will become permanent only after successfully passing the supplementary examination.
The Education Department said the initiative aims to support students, reduce dropout rates, and prevent learners from losing an entire academic year because of failure in the annual examination.
