Balochistan Education Reforms Show Strong Positive Results

Thousands Of Schools Restored Across Balochistan

QUETTA: (Web Desk) – Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti has said that ongoing education reforms in the province are showing measurable progress, with more than 717,000 children enrolled in public schools over the past two years.

In a statement shared on the social media platform X, the chief minister said the reforms have resulted in a 5 percent reduction in dropout rates and an 11 percent increase in student retention, reflecting improved public trust in the government’s education policies.

He further stated that 3,778 previously non-functional schools have been restored and made operational, allowing thousands of children, particularly in remote and underserved regions, to rejoin formal education.

The chief minister emphasized that education is central to addressing long-standing underdevelopment in Balochistan and said the government remains committed to ensuring transparency, accountability, and improved governance in the sector.

He also reiterated that negligence, corruption, and inefficiency in the education system will not be tolerated, and strict monitoring mechanisms have been introduced to track teacher attendance, school functionality, and overall performance.

According to the statement, a province-wide monitoring system is now in place to strengthen oversight and improve educational standards across public schools.

CM Bugti added that the government aims to further modernize the education sector through sustained reforms so that Balochistan’s youth can actively contribute to national development and economic progress.
