The federal minister's remarks underscore Pakistan's commitment to its judicial processes.
ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar, has strongly defended Pakistan’s legal process in response to concerns raised by the former First Minister of Scotland over the continued imprisonment of Imran Khan.
The former Scottish leader, who serves as a Member of the Scottish Parliament for Glasgow Pollok, expressed her concern in a tweet, criticizing the imprisonment of political opponents ahead of elections. While stating that she does not align with any political party in Pakistan, she emphasized that such practices undermine democratic principles.
A person who is facing charges of corruption and misuse of authority and all these cases are in courts of law; does any civilized county let such people go because of rhetoric and propaganda. I believe not. https://t.co/BNmpxL0yT8
