Armed Forces Alert to Hostile Attempts to Destabilise Pakistan: Field Marshal Asim Munir

Upon his arrival at the National Defence University, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir was received by the President of NDU.

Islamabad: (Special Reporter) – Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, has said that Pakistan’s Armed Forces are fully aware of state-sponsored attempts by hostile intelligence agencies to destabilise the country.

The Field Marshal made the remarks while addressing graduating officers of the National Security and War Course at the National Defence University (NDU) in Islamabad on Wednesday.

According to an official statement, Field Marshal Asim Munir highlighted the changing nature of warfare and stressed the importance of strategic clarity, institutional professionalism and preparedness in dealing with complex security challenges.

He appreciated the role of institutions such as the National Defence University in preparing future military and civilian leadership to counter hybrid, conventional and sub-conventional threats with confidence, foresight and resolve.

Pak Army Was Not Responsible for the Fall of Dhaka

The army chief said that the Pakistan Armed Forces were recalibrating their employment and development strategies in line with the evolving character of warfare.

He said hostile intelligence agencies were using proxies and networks in an attempt to undermine Pakistan’s internal security and economic prosperity. However, he added that such efforts would not be allowed to succeed.

Field Marshal Asim Munir reiterated that terrorism originating from across Pakistan’s borders would be dealt with through the full strength of the state. He said terrorist sanctuaries, their facilitators and networks would be dismantled with the support of the nation.

“Wars are not won through media rhetoric or political sloganeering but through faith, unity and discipline,” he said.

The Field Marshal expressed confidence in the professionalism, morale and operational readiness of Pakistan’s Armed Forces. He urged the graduating officers to uphold the values of integrity, selfless service and unwavering commitment to the country.
