Anwarul Haq Stresses Accountability in Development Projects
AJK PM Assures 100% Implementation of Disabled Quota
Rawalakot-(Special Correspondent )-Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Chaudhry Anwarul Haq, chaired a review meeting of development departments at PWD Rest House Banjusa, emphasizing transparency and accountability. He stressed that government funds are for the welfare of the people, and every rupee should benefit them directly.
Officers were instructed to take action against subordinate staff negligence, with high officials, including ministers, making surprise visits to address poor performance. The Prime Minister warned that if the government’s reputation suffers due to a department’s poor performance, the concerned officer will be held responsible.
During the briefing on Poonch Road Department, Chaudhry Anwarul Haq termed Tol Peer Road a game-changer project, assuring necessary funds for its completion. He also allocated separate funds for patchwork on main highways, directing Deputy Commissioners to monitor and report on its utilization.
Regarding the PWD Building Division, the Prime Minister ordered the completion of District Jail Rawalkot by December, enabling prisoner relocation. He also emphasized the need to stop electricity theft entirely, expressing concern over low recovery rates despite affordable electricity.
Most Senior Minister/Home Minister Colonel Retired Waqar Noor addressed staff shortages in educational institutions, emphasizing quality education and biometric attendance systems to prevent academic disruptions. He introduced a social media app for better monitoring of officers and staff across departments.
Special persons attending the meeting requested implementation of disabled persons’ quotas. The Prime Minister assured 100% fulfillment, promising doorstep delivery of quota-based appointments. He recognized special persons as integral to society, deserving government support and facilities.
Present at the meeting were Most Senior Minister/Home Minister Colonel Retd Waqar Ahmad Noor, Information Minister Pir Muhammad Mazhar Saeed Shah, Ministers Sardar Mir Akbar Khan, Sardar Amir Altaf, and Advisor to the Government Ahmed Sagheer.
