AJK Police Urge Banned Awami Action Committee Leaders to Surrender

Rs15 Billion Loss, 79 FIRs: AJK Government Blames Banned Awami Action Committee

Muzaffarabad:-(Special Correspondent/New Desk)- The Government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and the AJK Police have accused the banned Awami Action Committee of inciting violence, disrupting public order, and carrying out attacks on state institutions.

Addressing a joint press conference, the Information Secretary said the unrest had caused an estimated Rs15 billion in economic losses over the past month. He alleged that what began as a public rights movement had been taken over by disruptive and separatist elements.

The government claimed it has already provided significant subsidies on flour and electricity, while accusing the banned group of attempting to disrupt the democratic process and upcoming elections.

Officials further alleged that the organization’s leaders delivered speeches against Pakistan and its armed forces, encouraged civil disobedience, and were declared banned due to their alleged involvement in previous violent incidents.
