NEW DELHI: (Sports Desk) – India opener Abhishek Sharma has registered two contrasting T20 cricket records within just five days.
After smashing a brilliant century against Afghanistan, Abhishek was dismissed for a golden duck in a historic T20 International against Japan.
The dismissal marked his 10th duck in T20 cricket in 2026, giving him the highest number of zero scores by any player in a single calendar year.
Seven of Abhishek’s 10 ducks have come in international T20 matches, highlighting the unusual contrast in his performances during the year.
Before Abhishek, Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan in 2019 and Pakistan’s Shadab Khan in 2024 had each recorded nine ducks in T20 cricket during a calendar year.
Abhishek’s latest record comes just five days after his remarkable performance against Afghanistan, when he smashed a century from only 30 deliveries.
His rapid hundred and subsequent golden duck have created a striking contrast in his recent T20 performances.
