SHO with five cops suspended over raid on Barrister Gohar’s house

Islamabad_Islamabad police on Sunday suspended five officers, including the Margalla station house officer (SHO), following a preliminary inquiry into yesterday’s raid at the residence of PTI leader Barrister Gohar Ali Khan.
According to the statement, when the police party found out that the said house was the residence of Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, the raiding police party came back immediately.
“The Honourable Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Pakistan summoned the Islamabad Capital City Police Officer (ICCPO) and ordered an investigation into the matter,” the police noted. Islamabad IGP Dr Akbar Nasir later visited the house of Barrister Gohar.

According to the spokesperson for the police, an inquiry had been carried out against raid on Gohar’s house yesterday. The police reached a house in search of wanted criminals on a tip-off only to discover that it belonged to Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, he added.
Fact-Finding Inquiry Regarding the Local Police Raid at Barrister Gohar’s Residence On January 13, at 2:00 pm, the local police reached F-7/2 to apprehend a proclaimed offender on the tip of an informer. When the police party came to know that the said house was the residence of Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, Chairman PTI, the raiding police party came back immediately.
Barrister Gohar Ali Khan complained to the Honourable Supreme Court of Pakistan against the said raid by the local police. The Honourable Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Pakistan summoned the Islamabad Capital City Police Officer (ICCPO) and ordered an investigation into the matter. The honorable court directed the ICCPO to personally hear the grievance of Chairman PTI about the incident.
ICCPO Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan assured Chairman PTI to investigate the matter and take departmental action if any police officer is found guilty. ICCPO appointed DPO City as an inquiry officer with the directions to hold a fact-finding inquiry into the matter and submit a detailed report within 3 days.
After Preliminary inquiry 5 officers, including SHO Margalla, have been suspended until further orders. An inquiry is being conducted, and strict action will be taken against the officials who violated the law. Report any suspicious activity on “Pucar 15” or “ICT 15” Mobile App.
Barrister Gohar had complained to the Chief Justice of Pakistan about the raid who summoned the police officer and issued an order to investigate the matter.
Inspector General Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan appointed City DPO as an inquiry officer and ordered him to submit a detailed report within three days.
He assured Barrister Gohar of legal action if any police official was found guilty.
