While mixed fortunes for Qureshi family as nominations rejected and accepted
In a turn of events that brought both disappointment and joy to the Qureshi family, PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi faced setbacks as his nominations for all Multan constituencies were rejected by the Appellate Tribunal. However, relief followed for his son, Zain Qureshi, and daughter, Meher Bano, as their appeals were accepted, allowing them to contest in the upcoming February 8 elections in the same district.
The rejection of Shah Mahmood Qureshi’s nominations in all Multan constituencies, where he had submitted papers for two National Assembly seats (NA-150 and NA-151) and one provincial assembly seat (PP-218), has left a significant impact on his key stronghold. The decision by the tribunal has raised eyebrows, especially given similar appeals from other PTI candidates being accepted previously.
In contrast, jubilation filled the Qureshi household as Zain and Meher Bano Qureshi emerged victorious in their appeals. Zain is now set to face off against PML-N candidate Amir Saeed Ansari and PPP stalwart Ali Musa Gillani in NA-150 and NA-151, while Meher Bano will contest the PP-218 seat.
