Governor Punjab Muhammad Baligh ur Rehman Sunday called on Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.
Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Syed Mohsin Naqvi, chief secretary and IG Punjab Police were also present in the meeting, PM Office Media Wing said in a press release
During the meeting, the prime minister was given a briefing on the law and order situation in the province.
The prime minister appreciated the performance of the provincial administration and Punjab police for maintaining law and order during Muharram and Ashura.
Condemning the torturer of a teenage maid, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has sought a report from the Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to sources, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif issued a directive to Punjab Chief Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi to provide the best treatment facilities to the victim.
He said all efforts should be made to save the girl’s life and recovery.
He also urged that the provision of justice to the oppressed girl should be ensured.
Prime Minister’s directive further stated, “Who is the accused, he should not be considered, justice should be ensured.
“Implementation of the law should be ensured, cruel and illegal do not deserve any kind of concession, Prime Minister said adding that Police should follow the law strictly without considering any pressure.
Shehbaz Sharif said that society cannot afford such darkness and oppression.
