10 Islamabad DSPs Elevated to SP Rank After Official Promotion Orders

Islamabad Police Force announces promotion orders for senior officers, who will serve a one-year probation period.

Islamabad – (Choudhry Mudassir) – The 10 Islamabad DSPs have been promoted from Grade 17 to Superintendent of Police (SP) in Grade 18. The promotion takes effect immediately, according to the official orders.

The promotion list includes Tariq Mehmood, Khalid Awan, Irshad Ali Abro, Sajid Abbas and Basharat Ali.

The other five officers are Muhammad Sarfaraz, Fayyaz Ahmed, Asadullah, Akram Soomro and Seth Ali Abro.

All ten officers will remain on probation for one year. This is stated clearly in the promotion orders.

A probation period usually means an officer’s work is watched and reviewed for a set time. It helps confirm that the person is ready for the new role.

Moving from DSP to SP is a big step in a police career. An SP has a higher rank and takes on wider duties. The role also brings more responsibility for leading teams and handling field matters.

For the officers, the promotion is a sign that their service has been recognised. It also gives them a chance to show their skills at a higher level.

Promotions like this often lift morale inside a police force. When officers see that hard work can lead to a better rank, they tend to feel more motivated.

The Islamabad Police Force plays an important role in keeping the federal capital safe. Strong leadership at senior levels is a key part of that work.

Many people in the city will now watch how the newly promoted SPs perform. Their work during the one-year probation will matter.

Further details, such as new postings, have not been shared yet. Any update will be reported once the police department confirms it.

For now, the news is clear. Ten officers have moved up to Grade 18, and their one-year probation has started.
