Security Forces Shoot Down Five Drones in Balochistan Attack
Security sources say the drones targeted a check-post in Kharan district, and no loss of life or property was reported.
Balochistan – (Staff Reporter/Web Desk) – Security forces have foiled a drone attack in Balochistan by shooting down five drones before they could hit their target. Security sources shared the details on Friday.
The terrorists tried to strike a security check-post in the Albat area of Kharan district. Sources linked the attempt to Fitna al-Hindustan, a group Pakistan calls an Indian proxy.
Security forces responded quickly. They destroyed all five drones before the drones could reach the check-post.
No one was killed or hurt. No property was damaged either, the sources added.
Earlier Drone Interception
This is not the first such incident. Last month, Pakistan shot down eight drones that entered its airspace from Afghanistan.
Sources said the air defence system detected all eight drones in time and stopped them. The system is run by the Pakistan Air Force along the Pak-Afghan border. Officials say it stays ready round the clock.
Rise in Cross-Border Militancy
Pakistan has seen a sharp rise in cross-border terror attacks since the Afghan Taliban returned to power in 2021. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan have been hit the hardest.
Islamabad has often asked Kabul to stop militants from using Afghan land for attacks. Pakistan says the Taliban authorities have not acted against these groups. Kabul disputes this claim.
Pakistan launched Operation Ghazab lil-Haq in February 2026. This came months after both countries agreed to a ceasefire in October 2025 following border clashes.
Talks have taken place several times. Even so, the two sides have not settled their differences, and militant groups on Afghan soil remain the main sticking point.
