Interior Minister Supervises Demolition of Khanna Police Station in Islamabad
Mohsin Naqvi says the government will clear all illegal occupation of state land, starting with its own departments
Islamabad – (Staff Reporter/Web Desk) – Interior Minister supervises demolition of the Khanna Police Station building in Islamabad on Friday. The building stood on the green belt along Islamabad Expressway.
Mohsin Naqvi led the operation in person. It is part of a wider campaign against encroachments and illegal occupation of government land in the federal capital.
Speaking to reporters, he said official encroachments are being removed first. He explained that this step keeps the campaign fair and transparent.
“We are removing the encroachments from the greenbelt,” he said. The police station building has now been levelled to the ground.
The police station has been moved to a rented building for now. A new site has been legally allocated, and a new building will be constructed there.
The Chief Commissioner Islamabad and the Inspector General of Islamabad Police took part in the operation. The Deputy Commissioner and other officials were also present.
Naqvi said no government body, private organisation or person can occupy state land. Land held by departments under the Interior Ministry is also being taken back.
He recalled that the FC camp office near the Marriott Hotel was demolished some time ago. He said action will continue without any discrimination.
The minister also shared plans for public services. Five more 1122 centres will be set up in Islamabad, and all police stations in the city will be renovated.
His goal is simple. He wants Islamabad to be a green city with no encroachments.
