CTD Arrests Three Terrorists in Karachi, Foils Major Attack Plot
Security forces act on time and stop a planned strike on a sensitive location in the city
Karachi – (Staff Reporter/Web Desk) – Security forces in Karachi have stopped a big attack plan and arrested three terrorists in a joint action.
The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) carried out the operation with an intelligence agency. Officials say the team moved quickly and caught the suspects before they could act.
According to details, the group wanted to hit a sensitive location in the city. Their plan failed because the security forces took action at the right time.
Two of the arrested men belong to the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA). The third is linked to the outlawed Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
Officials identified two of the suspects as Rahim Fazal and Balach Baloch.
A large amount of weapons was found with them. The recovered items include IEDs, hand grenades and other arms.
Earlier, on October 13, 2026, the CTD arrested three suspects from the TTP and BLA in separate raids in Karachi.
A CTD spokesperson said two hand grenades and one IED were taken from them. He added that a raid near Lasbela Chowk led to the arrest of two suspected BLA members.
They were named as Sajid Yusuf and Shaukat Ali, also known as Shoki.
The spokesperson said these suspects stayed in constant contact with their handlers. They were planning bomb attacks on sensitive buildings and law enforcement agencies.
Officials believe the quick action saved many lives. Investigators are now questioning the suspects to learn more about their network.
Security agencies say they will keep up their search for such groups. The aim is to keep Karachi safe and protect its people from any threat.
