Faisal Vawda Alleges PTI Links to Terrorism, Says Party Is Falling Apart

Senator Claims PTI Members Have Been in Contact With Him

ISLAMABAD: (Staff Reporter) – Senator Faisal Vawda has alleged that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had links with terrorists, claiming that internal divisions have weakened the party and undermined its political narrative. He also criticised the party over the security situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).

Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, Vawda said Pakistan’s national interests must take precedence over political affiliations. He described the law and order situation in KP as alarming and alleged that the province had experienced prolonged deterioration over the past 13 years.

The senator said security personnel and civilians continued to make sacrifices in the fight against terrorism. He warned that those currently responsible for addressing the country’s challenges would have to deliver results or risk being replaced.

Vawda Highlights Security Challenges and Military Efforts

Vawda praised the military’s role in combating terrorism and addressing economic challenges, claiming that its efforts had contributed to improving Pakistan’s financial position and attracting investment. He also commended the Field Marshal for what he described as achievements in national security.

He declared that the fight against terrorism must succeed, identifying the next 180 days as a crucial period. According to Vawda, the country could not afford failure in its efforts to restore security and stability.

The senator further alleged that PTI had been asked to remove foreign militants from the province but had failed to act. He claimed that residents had refrained from protesting because of the hardship and devastation caused by the security situation.

Senator Claims PTI Faces Internal Divisions

Vawda also alleged that arrests involving PTI members had taken place through mutual arrangements. He claimed that the party was falling apart and asserted that individuals responsible for what he described as economic terrorism would also face accountability.

He said eight PTI members had been in contact with him during the previous 48 hours, adding that members of the party’s cabinet had also met him in Islamabad.

Commenting on JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Sohail Afridi, Vawda said Fazlur Rehman had not betrayed Afridi. He also predicted that the country’s political system would undergo a significant reset.

Vawda Calls on PTI Members to Consider a New Party

Criticising political leaders who continued to enjoy privileges while security personnel sacrificed their lives, Vawda said such circumstances should no longer be tolerated.

He urged PTI members who wished to serve the country to establish a separate political party or explore alternative political platforms. He maintained that PTI had lost its political relevance and questioned its future role in Pakistan’s political landscape.

The allegations and political assessments were made by Vawda during his press conference. The claims regarding PTI’s alleged links to terrorism and the circumstances surrounding arrests should be treated as allegations unless independently substantiated.
