Punjab Expands AI Education With Training for 160,000 Teachers
LAHORE: (Staff Reporter) – Advisor to Punjab Chief Minister on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Initiative Ali Dar has announced that 160,000 teachers will receive AI training under the province’s AI Curriculum and Training Initiative.
Speaking as chief guest at an event for participants of the initiative, Ali Dar said thousands of students would also benefit from greater access to artificial intelligence education.
He said the training of 160,000 teachers would play an important role in expanding AI education across Punjab and equipping educators with modern skills.
According to Ali Dar, a key objective of incorporating AI into the curriculum is to prepare teachers in line with the latest technological and educational standards.
He expressed hope that an AI-enabled educational curriculum in Punjab would create better learning opportunities for students and help prepare them for future academic and professional challenges.
The launch of the AI Curriculum and Training Initiative brought together representatives from the School Education Department, Punjab Education Curriculum Training and Assessment Authority (PECTAA), PMIU-PESRP, UNICEF and the Office of AI.
The participants discussed the changing landscape of teaching and learning and examined how artificial intelligence can be incorporated into education as technology continues to reshape classrooms and academic practices.
