PCB Expands Investigation Into Imam, Rizwan After Lord’s Test Loss

Islamabad: (Sports Reporter) – The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has reportedly obtained phone data linked to Pakistani cricketers in London as part of an expanded investigation following the team’s heavy defeat at Lord’s.

According to sources, the PCB has widened its inquiry into the activities of Imam-ul-Haq and Mohammad Rizwan after Pakistan suffered a 194-run loss in the Lord’s Test.

The investigation is reportedly examining not only the players’ activities but also their communications and the people they were in contact with during their stay in London.

Sources claim that Pakistan’s team security officer took possession of the mobile phones belonging to both cricketers after they returned to the team hotel following the Test. The phones were reportedly held for several hours, during which their data was transferred elsewhere, before the devices were returned to the players.

If the investigation uncovers substantial evidence of any violation, the two players could reportedly face disciplinary action, including significant fines or suspensions. Their future selection for the national team could also come under consideration depending on the findings.

However, these claims have not been officially confirmed. When approached for comment, a PCB spokesperson declined to confirm the reported seizure or transfer of the players’ phone data.
