England Crush Pakistan by 194 Runs at Lord’s

LONDON: (Sports Reporter) –  England continued their dominance over Pakistan, securing a commanding 194-run victory in the Lord’s Test on Sunday to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.

Set a challenging target of 389 runs, Pakistan’s batting order once again failed to deliver, as the visitors were bowled out for 194 on the fourth day. Saud Shakeel was the standout batter, narrowly missing a century with a fighting 97.

Shan Masood contributed 26 runs, while Abdullah Shafique departed without scoring. Mohammad Rizwan managed just one run, with captain Babar Azam and Aizaan Owais adding six runs apiece.

England had resumed their second innings at 177-7 and extended their lead before being bowled out for 208. Dan Lawrence top-scored with 54, while Harry Brook added 34.

For Pakistan, fast bowler Mohammad Abbas was the pick of the bowlers. He claimed five wickets in England’s second innings and finished the match with an impressive nine-wicket haul. Mohammad Ali and Khurram Shahzad took two wickets each.

England had gained a commanding advantage in the first innings after dismissing Pakistan for just 110 in response to their total of 290. Aizaan Owais top-scored for Pakistan with 46, while Saud Shakeel contributed 16. Eight Pakistani batters failed to score in double figures.

The result ended England’s 16-year wait for a Test victory over Pakistan at Lord’s and secured them a decisive 2-0 series advantage with one match still remaining.
