Pakistan Moves to Strengthen Online Safety for Children

ISLAMABAD: (Staff Reporter) – The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and Google LLC have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening child online safety, digital awareness and responsible internet use across Pakistan.

Under the agreement, the two organisations will work together on a Child Safety Program designed to improve awareness, education and digital safety skills among children, parents, teachers and caregivers.

Awareness content to be developed in local languages

As part of the collaboration, PTA and Google will develop online safety awareness material in English and local languages.

The programme will also include training sessions at educational institutions, helping students, teachers and parents better understand digital risks and responsible online behaviour.
