NADRA Intensifies Verification Drive Against Suspicious CNICs Across Punjab
LAHORE: (News Desk) – The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has stepped up its action against fake and suspicious identity documents, issuing notices to 741 CNIC holders in Punjab.
NADRA’s regional headquarters said the initial list includes residents of Jhelum district and several of its tehsils. The individuals named in the notices have been instructed to visit their respective NADRA zonal offices within 15 days and submit the required documents for verification.
Officials warned that CNICs belonging to individuals who fail to appear within the specified period may be blocked. Further action could also be taken against individuals found involved in suspicious activities and, where necessary, against their family members.
The ongoing verification drive has also brought to light cases involving Afghan refugees who allegedly obtained Pakistani CNICs through illegal means. Authorities are investigating such cases as part of the broader crackdown on fraudulent identity documents.
