Pakistan Receives Six Percent Below-Normal Rainfall During July 2026 Across Country
ISLAMABAD: (Staff Reporter) – Pakistan received slightly below-average rainfall during July 2026, with nationwide precipitation measuring 89.3 millimetres, around 6 per cent lower than the long-term average, according to the latest rainfall statistics.
Among the provinces, Sindh recorded the sharpest decline, receiving 74 per cent less rainfall than normal, while Balochistan experienced a 35 per cent shortfall. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa also remained below average, with rainfall 7.4 per cent lower than the usual level for the month.
On the other hand, Azad Jammu and Kashmir recorded 2.9 per cent above-normal rainfall, and Punjab saw a modest increase of 6.1 per cent. Gilgit-Baltistan stood out with an exceptional 86.2 per cent rise in rainfall compared to the monthly average.
The figures also highlight changing weather trends over recent years. July 2025 recorded 25 per cent above-normal rainfall, whereas July 2024 received 9 per cent less rainfall than the historical average.
