Tarar Announces PML-N Confidence Over Future AJK Government Formation

PML-N Claims Lead in AJK Polls, Eyes Government Formation

ISLAMABAD: (Special Reporter0 – Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has expressed confidence that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) will establish the next government in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), claiming that the party has secured a strong position during the initial phase of the Kashmir elections.

Speaking at an event in Lahore, Tarar said PML-N candidates achieved success in the Mirpur division and appreciated party workers for their dedicated efforts throughout the election campaign. He maintained that public service, development and infrastructure growth remained central to the party’s political vision.

The minister said AJK experienced notable progress during the leadership of PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif, while Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif launched major development initiatives, including Danish Schools, in the region. He highlighted the sacrifices made by Kashmiris and said the PML-N had consistently supported the Kashmir cause through political and diplomatic efforts.

Tarar added that Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif had highlighted the Kashmir issue at international platforms, including the United Nations. Discussing the election campaign, he claimed that PML-N’s message had gained widespread support across Kashmir and expressed hope that the party would form the next AJK government.

He further stated that all political parties had the right to participate in democratic activities but argued that no party could match PML-N’s record of public service. Responding to criticism regarding refugee seats, Tarar said the party would perform strongly whether elections were conducted on refugee or general seats in Jammu and Kashmir.
