Trump Expresses Desire to Contest Fourth US Presidential Election

Trump Says He Wants Fourth Presidential Election Despite Constitutional Limit

WASHINGTON: (News Desk) – US President Donald Trump has said he would like to contest a fourth presidential election, despite the constitutional restriction that bars any individual from being elected to the presidency more than twice.

Speaking at a public event, Trump suggested his remarks would surprise many people before saying he wished to run for president for a fourth time.

According to 24NewsHD TV, Trump has completed nearly half of his second term in office.

However, the US Constitution’s 22nd Amendment clearly states that no person can be elected president more than twice. As a result, a fourth successful presidential campaign would not be legally possible unless the Constitution is amended.

Trump did not explain how such a bid could move forward or whether his comments were made as a political statement rather than an official announcement of future election plans.
