Sessions Judge, Guard Killed in Quetta Mastung Judge Convoy Attack

Mastung  – (Staff Reporter/Web Desk) – A shocking Quetta Mastung judge convoy attack has left the legal community in grief. Unknown gunmen opened fire on a judge’s vehicle while it moved from Quetta toward the Mastung court. The Mastung judge attack claimed two lives and left two more people wounded. Officials say the shooting took place near the Wali Khan area on Thursday morning.

Sessions Judge Abdul Hakeem Kakar was travelling to attend court duties. His security guard rode with him. Sadly, both men died at the scene. A second vehicle in the convoy carried Additional Sessions Judge Tariq Lashari. He and one other passenger suffered serious wounds. Both were rushed to a nearby hospital for urgent care.

District Police Officer Allah Bakhsh Baloch shared the details with reporters. He confirmed the attackers struck without warning. The area has now been sealed off. Search teams are combing the region for clues. No group has yet claimed responsibility for the shooting.

Balochistan’s government did not stay silent. Officials called the killing a direct hit on state authority. Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti spoke firmly against the attackers. He promised that justice would follow soon. He also vowed to wipe out terror networks operating in the province.

A provincial adviser added his own words of sorrow. He called the loss of the judge and his guard deeply painful. He said such attacks try to weaken the rule of law but will not succeed.

Lawyers Announce Protest

The Balochistan Bar Council responded with anger and sorrow. It announced a two-day strike across courts. Lawyers will also observe three days of mourning. During this time, they plan to wear black armbands as a sign of respect. The council called the attack a blow against justice itself.

Bar leaders also made clear demands. They want quick arrests of those behind the shooting. They also asked the government to boost security for judges, lawyers, and court staff across the region.

This attack comes soon after another violent event nearby. A day earlier, gunmen struck a passenger bus in the same district. A bridge on the highway was also damaged. Because of this, authorities placed a curfew on the Khad Kocha area. The curfew began at nine at night and remains active until further notice.

Local officials asked residents to stay indoors during this sensitive time. They said the step aims to protect public safety while investigators work.
